Part 3: the wrong bus

Francisca ran as fast as she could. She was panicking. Why had she got up so late? Or more importantly, why had she accepted that extra chot of vodka at three in the morning. She was going to be late for her first day of school!

Luckily, she arrived at the bus stop just as the squeaky old bus noisily arrived. She jumped on board, sank into the first empty seat, and fell asleep.

She woke to the sound of seagulls, and a short hairy man saying, "hey lady. It's the end of the route. Everyone has to get off". She opened hers eyes, first gradually, then suddenly. Where was she? She couldn't see any of the grey buildings and graffitied walls that characterized her school zone.

She got down from the bus onto sand. She'd arrived at the beach! "Oh well", she thought, "maybe I'm not meant to be a teacher after all!"

Pet part 3 question 7

Dear friend,

It's nice to hear from you, and thanks for your questions.

While I like both doing things inside the house and also in the open air, I prefer outside activities.

I love doing sport, whether as part of a team, like for football or rugby, or alone like hiking or surfing. It's great fun to do exercise and push yourself to achieve something. I also love being in nature, in the sea or the mountains, feeling the sun on my skin and seeing animals and wildlife.

What do you prefer?

Hugs,

Paul.

Part 2 question 6

Dear Alex,
Thanks so much for inviting me to go to the beach with you and your family. I had a really great time, and your family are so nice!
I especially enjoyed learning to surf. It was difficult, of course, but also fun, and I think I improved a little bit.
Would you like to see a movie sometime soon? I hear the new joker movie is quite good.

Speak soon,
Paul.

The boy ran away hysterically, the dog chased after him barking wildly.

The weather was nice, we went to the beach!

I saw a film, it was amazing, and I've seen it three times already!

We liked it, so we subscribed, it cost 6 dollars a month.

A movie, series or book I've seen or read recently

Hi everyone. Nice to meet you. I hope we can keep practicing our English together for the rest of the course.
I would like to write about a series I've seen recently. It's called Fleabag.
Fleabag is a series on Amazon prime about an English lady in her late twenties or early thirties. It has two seasons and each season has only 6 episodes.
The lady (you never know her name) runs a small coffee shop, has a successful sister, and a distant father. She used to run the coffee shop with a friend of hers, but the friend has died. Fleabag's life is not going very well, and she frequently gets angry, or sad, as she goes through the adventures of the series.
The series is a comedy, and is genuinely funny. The main character is always looking to the camera, and telling funny jokes, or making a silly comment. The other characters also get into crazy and absurd situations, which can be hilarious. However, it is also a sad show, filled with characters who are finding life difficult. Fleabag's sister has an alcoholic husband and a strange stepson, which she struggles to balance with her career. Her father finds it difficult to connect with his daughters, and her stepmother is an awful woman. It is this combination of comedy and sadness that makes the series so great.
I loved this series, and without wanting to exaggerate, I think I have never seen television quite like it. The second season, in particular, will make you laugh, cry, and question yourself as a TV viewer. Each character is amazingly written, and the storylines are silly but with a centre of poignancy and truth.
The only caveat I would make is that the series is quite rude. It has a lot of swearing and adult themes, so if you are offended by these things, I wouldn't recommend it. For everyone else, though, watch it as soon as possible!
Write your own post about a movie, series, or book you have seen recently, that you liked or didn't like. Then write a comment on your classmates blog.
